PLEASE KINDLY NOTE THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS DOING A NEW THING IN 2012 SAYING "NEW WINE FOR NEW WINESKINS" AMEN. THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS ASKED US TO LAY DOWN M300 MINISTRIES AND ALL OF THE WORK, OF STRIVING AND SWEATING FROM OUR BROW AS HE IS TAKING THIS NAKED KERNEL THAT IS LAID DOWN IN OBEDIENCE DYING TO SELF THAT THE LORD MIGHT DO A NEW THING.
BEGINNING IN JANUARY 2012 AFTER 4 YEARS OF STRIVING WE WILL NOT BE FREQUENTLY UPDATING THIS REPORT PAGE.
1 Corinthians 15: 36-38 36You foolish man! Every time you plant seed, you sow something that does not come to life [germinating, springing up, and growing] unless it dies first.37Nor is the seed you sow then the body which it is going to have [later], but it is a naked kernel, perhaps of wheat or some of the rest of the grains. 38But God gives to it the body that He plans and sees fit, and to each kind of seed a body of its own.
We are excited that the Holy Spirit is taking our offering, our sacrifice as a "naked kernel" and as it dies to itself He will raise up a new body that He plans and sees fit. Thank you Lord for Yeshua Full Measure Ministry that you are founding, establishing and raising up. Hallelujah!
AN IMPORTANT OPEN LETTER
TO OUR DONORS AND FRIENDS
August 26, 2009
Dear Friends of Predisan,
The year 2009 has posed a unique and exceptionally difficult set of challenges for both Mission Predisan and Predisan-USA.
Through both our communications and those of the broader media, you are likely quite familiar with the on-going political struggles in Honduras, for which no quick resolution appears imminent. Thus far this year, seven Predisan groups have had to cancel their trips due to the unrest, and we have lost the vital help of more than 100 volunteers. Because of the critical importance of this issue, we ask your continued prayers for a peaceful resolution.
Much closer to home, Predisan-USA has faced its own challenges, which merit sharing with you as donors and stakeholders.
First, although the climate for fundraising nationwide has improved slightly over the last 60 days, giving overall remains weak for us, for many of the churches that generously support us and for many other missions and charities we are in contact with. For the past three months Predisan-USA has only had resources to send 50 percent of the needed monthly disbursement to Honduras, which has deteriorated the reserves of Mission Predisan.
Action plans have been put in place in Honduras by reducing salaries and work hours, but broad program cuts have thus far been avoided. Still, we recognize that funding support must increase this fall or much broader cuts will be necessary.
Second, the search process for Predisan-USA's chief development officer is continuing, and your prayers and potential assistance would be deeply appreciated. A great deal of planning and prayer has been devoted to the process thus far, and a consultant was retained for the recruiting and hiring process.
Unfortunately, unanticipated circumstances at the very end of a months-long process have prevented us from hiring our chosen candidate for the chief development officer role in accordance with our hoped-for schedule. As you might imagine, it is extremely difficult to function without a chief development officer in the current economy, and since Predisan-USA is a small organization, the lack of a person in this position significantly reduces our staff resources.
We have started over with a new process for hiring a person for the chief development officer role. Our time frame is to have finalists for the position selected prior to Oct. 24, when the boards of both Mission Predisan and Predisan-USA will meet jointly in Oklahoma City.
While the initial CDO search process was confidential, we feel it important to update you at this time and to invite your involvement in the second search, which will be conducted via a grassroots effort. If you or anyone you know has demonstrated success in fundraising, preferably in church or mission-related work, we would appreciate receiving your recommendations right away.
On a very positive note, the Walks for Honduras in Atlanta, Chattanooga, Dallas and Oklahoma City are progressing well, and much of our attention is currently focused on their success. We sincerely ask you to join us and walk or donate to help us finish this fiscal year as strong as possible! Also, Mission Predisan's 2008 Annual Report is in final stages and will be reaching you next month.
As we review the accomplishments of the last year, we are reminded anew of the thousands of life changing acts of love that make visible Christ's presence in our world. That reminder heartens us in our work and leads us to pause in gratitude and humility for you, our devoted and generous donors and friends. The grace in your lives sustains our work in the midst of daunting days.
Thank you again for your generosity, prayers, and compassion. We will continue to inform you in the days ahead of our progress regarding these challenges, and we will continue to look to the Lord for His constant care.
With deep appreciation,
The Staffs and Boards of Mission Predisan and Predisan-USA
