Dustan & Darlene

Join us in welcoming "Revolutionary Life"

Darlene and Dustan were married in April, 2007. This was God’s connection, bringing two people with the same heart together to build a lifelong vision. Currently they are on their first two year missionary journey. The purpose of the trip is to preach the gospel to the unreached, as well as network with, serve under, and learn from those already serving the Lord in the same arena as Revolutionary Life’s vision. They will plan future ministry throughout the world, and upon return begin the work of accomplishing the work the Lord has given them to do.Dustan & Darlene are in the foundational stages of starting this ministry and ask for your prayers and financial support as they strive to reach the lost multitudes that have never once heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dustan also has a heart to turn the hearts of the church of America back to the Love, Hope, & Faith of our new testament Church Fathers.

This just in from Mission Lazarus missionary Jarrod Brown:

See how God is helping Mission Lazarus to continue it's mission in the midst of political unrest in Honduras...

This morning San Marcos awoke to the news of another 12 hours of government imposed curfew, this curfew is ONLY for 4 towns in the entire country and ours happens to be one of them. The curfew is a measure that the government has taken since Friday at noon to prevent protestors from going to the Nicaraguan border to support the ousted president. The reality is that Zelaya is a few hours north at the town of Las Manos and San Marcos is the sleepy little ranching town that it has always been. However, the curfew threatened the large annual medical brigade that Mission Lazarus hosts in the isolated cow town of Duyure. Yesterday morning we received special permission from the sub-commissioner of police to circulate in the region and to disregard the curfew. Again this morning I called the sub-commissioner at 6 AM to get authorization. He approved this and our crew headed off once again to be God’s hands to touch the lives of many in Duyure. Around 10AM this morning I was in my office when our security guard called over the radio telling me that the sub-commissioner was here to see me. I told him to let them come into the compound. I immediately went to great him. He was joined by 5 soldiers, 4 obviously GI’s and the 5th obviously a lot more important. Turns out he was the colonel in charge of all troops in the southern region of Honduras. I was very honored that they came to meet me and they appeared very honored that I had received them! I showed them around our offices and the children’s home. They told me whatever we needed that they were here to help us and that we could count on their full support. They reiterated their commitment to enable us to serve THEIR people, the Hondurans. I then invited them to eat lunch with us at the group lodge which they greatly enjoyed. They both gave me their cell phone numbers and asked for mine. I feel that God made all of this happen for the benefit of the Lord’s work here and the security of all of our staff and volunteers from the US. Thank you Lord! I am pictured with both officials above.

As it is already known by some of you, in the Churches of Christ of El Salvador, several seminaries for preachers and teachers women during the course of every year are realized. Which become under the directions of the effort of the congregations of this region. El Salvador, geographically, is divided in three Zones: Central, Western and Eastern. In each of them there are developed this class of events.

In the Central Zone they are carried out six of those seminaries, with an interval of two months. So that, Saturday, June 13/2009, already the third seminary of the present year has been realized. The thematic was: “THE CHURCH OF THE TRUTH OR THE TRUTH OF THE CHURCH”, exposed very effectively for the preacher, brother Luis Fernando Ospina, of Colombian nationality, and that recently is graduated from the Baxter Institute, of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. It developed the subject under the postulate of four truths, based on the letter of the apostle Paul to the Ephesians. These truths are the following:

            1) First Truth: The Wife of Jesus Christ Is a Mystery.

            2) Second Truth: Collapse at the Marriage? or The Violation of the Pact.

 3) Third Truth: The Eternal Happiness Is not an Utopia or the Promise Married Of the Love non Realized.

4) Fourth Truth: The Wife of Jesus Christ Is a Fragile Glass Or the Honor Of the Church.

When finalizing the four expositions, there was a workshop in which participated all the assistants to the event, the intention was for establishing and laying the foundations learned thing in these classes. There were 103 assistants who represented 20 congregations of the Central Zone already mentioned. The Church of Christ in Apopa, Department of San Salvador, place where the seminary was realized, offered by her own efforts, breakfast and lunch to all the participants. Our gratefulness to God, to brother Ospina, the Church of Apopa, and whichever Christians had participated in this program.

As always, that this work carried out is with the purpose of to increase   knowledge for all those that we are to the front of the teaching of the divine message to the churches of Christ in El Salvador, like in any place where the Lord allows us to teach His Word. That everything is made for honor and glory of our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who guide us in all the Truth!

Quarterly Report Bangladesh- Suku Ranjon

Note from M300 Ministries Director (Will someone please step forward to help Suku and his family with their support and rent needs as well as over 500 Bengali Bibles that are needed for new Christians? This request has been out for many, many months with no help and no support to meet these pressing needs of faithful missionaries serving in Muslim Bangladesh. What will we be able to say to the Lord if we knew we could help and did  not?)

We thank God for all things. Our God is so faithful to us, though things are not going according to proper plan but still we have to give thanks to the Lord as Bible says in 1st Thessalonians 5; 16-18 “be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

To follow the method of our pioneer disciples in last quarter April to June 2009, our staffs and key disciples decided to get together with our local leaders and former students for close fellowship, effective bible study and personal sharing, arranged a New Life Training, Jesus CD distributed among community people. They suppose to spend enough time for prayer fellowship and making better relationship among each other and fair communication with the Holy Spirit for His Spiritual guidance to accomplish the Great Commend of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In this perspective, this ministry tries to develop and build it’s relationship with former leaders and local lay leaders who lead their society from different angles through their faithful prayer. Thanks God for given an opportunity to serving Him, so that we might able to arrange New Life Training program dated on 12th, 19th and 26th June 2009 in Dhaka City, with 45 leaders especially Non-Christian.
First of them, Suku Ranjon shared the Word of Bible among the participants and then he demonstrate that how to share the Four Spiritual Booklet with the non-believer to receive Christ. Secondly, we spent few time with God through group prayer. After that we challenged people to join us and shared more than 3000 Jesus CD and few leaflet to the others visitors who came from deference place in Bangladesh. Few people dined us, but lot of people accepted and willingly took this opportunity to know Christ. We saw the power of prayer though we afraid.

Praise the Lord for given a Wonderful chance to distribute Jesus CD among Non- Christian community. We have distributed more thank 3000 CD, People got a chance to watched a Miracle life of Christ through this film of Jesus Christ.

We need more 500 Bengali Bibles for new believers who already received Christ, Please pray for this issue. Please come help to spread the Word of God in this Muslim Country.

Urgent Prayer Request:
1. Please pray for our 100% house rent, which is beyond of our capacity. We have to raise more additional $ 110 per month for house rent. It is the great challenge for us to sustain with ministry.
2. We need a Laptop computer for this ministry. Please pray for it, we believe God will must provide our needs through His anoint people.

My Online Giving account is: https://give.ccci.org/give/2808404

You are requested to pray for our family and our ministry. Your prayer support would help us in our ministry and encourage us to serve the Lord effectively.

HolaGreetings!

I am still alive!  All is well in Honduras.  I am sure that by now most of you have seen 30 second new clips covering the unrest in Honduras.  We are thankful to God that the protests have been very isolated and we have not been affected physically.  As many of you know all of our interns and my wife and kids, Meredith,  and my mom who was visiting, were evacuated from Honduras a week ago.  We did this as an added safety precaution.  Things did get hot last Sunday as the ousted president tried to return but things calmed down rather quickly.  Unfortunately the groups that were planned for the past two weeks and the groups for next week have all canceled for security reasons.  The local ministers we work with are very sad.  My wife and kids will be returning to Honduras on Saturday.  Is it safe to come to Honduras now?  If there were eminent dangers I would not be bringing my family back at this time.  No one know what will happen over the next few days as the two presidents discuss the situation and how it can be worked out.  We do however feel very confident that things will be worked out soon.  In San Marcos and Choluteca, where we live and work, there have been no riots at all.  We'll be going ahead with our planned gospel meeting beginning this coming Sunday in Namasigue.  I'll be the speaker, we are hoping for a good turn out in spite of that!!!  We encourage all groups that will be coming later in the summer to not cancel their trips.  Again, at this time every looks great and we expect it to continue this way.   Thank you for all of the prayers that have been offered up on our behalf.  You can continue to keep up with what's going down here on our blog at www.missionlazarus.org

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM MISSION PREDISAN
Wednesday, July 1, 2009
We are so thankful to report that all members of the Predisan team working in Honduras had arrived home safely in Oklahoma City by 11 p.m. tonight.

The group of 28 teens and adults from the New Hope Church of Christ, Edmond, Okla., returned on four flights from Atlanta and Houston - three days before their originally-planned departure from Honduras.

Mark Ruff, New Hope pulpit minister and youth minister, led the group. Kelly Graham, New Hope administrative minister, coordinated the group's change of plans and return home. We are deeply grateful to New Hope's group, and their leaders and families, who demonstrated a strong and cooperative spirit during this difficult time.

The New Hope group left Catacamas early this morning with a security escort, and took numerous secondary roads into Tegucigalpa. They passed through four roadblocks as they came into the city, and arrived at Toncontin airport with no problems. Mark Ruff reported the city exhibited no visible signs of a crisis, and that the airport, while extremely congested and hectic, was operating normally.

Oklahoma television station KWTV News9 covered the return of the first group arriving in Oklahoma City tonight, and interviewed Dr. Amanda Madrid about Predisan and the group's work. Their report is to be aired on one of the station's broadcasts tomorrow (Thursday) at 4, 5, 6 or 10 p.m.

As it's been since President Jose Manuel Zelaya was deposed, the situation in Tegucigalpa and the country is stable, but tense. The U.S. Embassy has continued to issue messages saying that all non-essential travel to Honduras should be deferred until further notice. Some demonstrations and disturbances are occurring, and a curfew remains in effect.

Of major concern in coming days is the possible return of the deposed president to Honduras. Originally Zelaya was expected to attempt to return tomorrow, Thursday, July 2, but some observers predict he will return on the weekend.

The Organization of American States (OAS) issued a statement this morning (Wednesday) saying Zelaya must be reinstated as president within 72 hours or Honduras will be suspended from OAS membership.

As the result of the unrest, the group from Atlanta due to travel to Predisan on Thursday, July 2, and a group from Antioch, Tenn., scheduled to arrive on Saturday, July 4, have cancelled their trips. The plans of the group from Searcy, Ark., set to arrive on Friday, July 3, will be finalized tomorrow.

However, as we mentioned in a previous message, if you have a trip planned to Predisan later in the summer, please do not cancel your trip at this time, and we will be in close touch about developments as they occur. Predisan has made extensive plans for your groups, as have the communities or clinics you will serve, and we hope and pray that as many of those plans as possible can go forward. Our primary concern, though, of course, remains the safety of all who work with us on behalf of those in need in Honduras.

We are deeply grateful for your prayers for the New Hope group, for our staff members in Catacamas and the mountains, and for the people of Honduras.

Please continue to pray that these upheavals be resolved in a timely and peaceful way. We will continue to keep you updated.

Please pray for us,

Martha Rivera, Executive Director
Kyle Huhtanen, Director of International Relations
