For His Glory is an Adoption Outreach ministry dedicated to placing orphaned children in Christian homes. With the knowledge that we are unable to do anything in and of ourselves, we submit this ministry to God and offer ourselves to be His hands extended.

For HIS Glory is unique in that our goal is to fulfill the Great Commission by reaching out to a physically and spiritually starving nation and giving God all the glory as He works in and through us.

For HIS Glory is dedicated to evangelizing birth parents of voluntarily orphaned children and those living in the surrounding areas, providing education and discipleship and preparing them for eternity.

About Bricks Kilns.

Introduction

Kilns are the place where bricks are prepared. Different kinds of laborer are hired for the kilns (bhattis). work. There are mostly two types of kiln work.

1. In one part clay is formed into bricks. It is then shaped into a mold. Most of the laborers hired for this hard labor are Christians. Christians are one of the poorest communities in Pakistan. A large percentage of Christians are involved in this work. They work very long hours in the sun at temperatures exceeding 40C or 104F. Their daily labor results in an average pay of 50-75 cents per day.

2, The second part is where the bricks loaded by hand and carried to be baked in high temperature kilns.

Child Labor

Child labor is a major issue for some Pakistani industries, and brick kilns are a good example of that. Christian Children as young as 5 years old can be found employed at these factories. The income of the household, not being enough to feed the entire family, means that many children, who should be in school playing with other children their age, instead must go to the local brick factories and work long hours. They work all day, and sometimes into the night - for barely enough money to feed themselves and their siblings at home. It should be no surprise that young girls working at these factories are especially vulnerable, as incidents of abuse have sometimes become known. These children are our future and we are burning their future away with the coal in the firing kilns.

Affects of Bricks Kilns

Coal is often used to burn the bricks in the kilns and the heavy smoke contains soot (fine carbon particulates) that penetrate deep inside the lungs and can cause severe asthma, congestion, chronic lung diseases and even cancer. As with other hazards, the young children are particularly vulnerable to sickness, disease, and mortality.

How much the children are paid for Brick Kiln work?

Children are paid 1 rupee per brick, but only if these unbaked bricks are finished by being baked in the kilns. Because many times when rain comes it destroys their unbaked bricks and then they are not paid for all of their labor.

The adults earn 65 to 80 rupees per day which is equal to one dollar or less per day. With these meager earnings they can hardly eat two times per day and are unable to enjoy the basic needs of life. The fact is that they live a life suffering like unto slavery.

Why are mostly poor Christian people compelled to work in Brick kilns ?

The owner of bricks kilns give loans to the poor Christian people and then they are entrapped and are never able to pay back the loan. This being the case they have to work for their whole life along with their children in a vain attempt to repay the loan. It is most often a form of entrapment and forced labor. You can help change this situation by giving at this link www.m300ministries.org/giving

What can you do for these poor Christian Kiln workers?

(Alpha & Omega and M300 Ministries Prayer Request)
For all of the pictures click this link
www.m300ministries.org/who_is_the_christ

1. Please pray that the Lord will open the doors for these people to be enabled to pay their loans back and gain freedom from the loans and oppression as well as giving freedom to the upcoming Christian generation as well

2. Please pray that after the Lord opens the door for them to escape this kind of bondage that he will provide a way for them to start their own business or get other jobs where they can support their families and provide hope for the next generation.

3. Please pray that the children will be able to go to school. The children need schooling so our coming Christian generation can read and understand the word of God and be saved.

4. Please pray that the Lord opens the door for a school in Kasur to provide schooling for these children. We are already operating one open air school, but it is without building, furniture and other basic needs. Please pray that Lord open doors so that we could help to educate all of the bricks klin children free of cost.

5. Please pray for more resourses so that we can keep feeding the Bricks kiln workers spiritually and physically.

6.  Please pray that the Lord will provide to us our own ministry transportation so that we can reach every corner of Pakistan to preach the Gospel to people like these.

Pakistan Muslims - insights into:
(Provided courtesy of 30-Days Prayer Network)

Satellite dishes everywhere

Pakistan means, "Land of the Pure" or "The Holy Land".

Formed in 1947 as a homeland for the Muslims of the Indian sub-continent, its primary identity is religious rather than ethnic or historical. The largest single ethnic group are the Punjabis (80 million) from the rich agricultural province of Punjab, but the Pushtun, Baluch and Sindhi communities are also significant in size and influence. Urdu, the national language, is the mother tongue of only a minority of peoples within the nation.

This diversity is at the root of growing tensions within Pakistan and in recent years it has resulted in rising levels of both ethnic and sectarian (especially Sunni vs. Shia) violence. The inability of the various groups to live together in peace under the banner of Islam has caused many to question the ideological basis of the country. This was especially seen in the subdued way in which people commemorated 50 years of independence in 1997.

Bondages in Pakistan

The dissatisfaction with what Pakistan has become; e.g. rampant corruption, drug addiction and violence in "the land of the pure", has opened the door for Islamic fundamentalists to offer their solution to the social problems through an Islamic revolution. This has tended to make the already beleaguered Christian minority even more apprehensive. Yet despite of the growing influence of fundamentalism, Pakistanis today, especially the educated, are more open to consider other options than at any time since the formation of the country.

Under the surface of official Islam there lies a world of bondage to charms, spirits and the "evil eye".

Flag of Pakistan

Pakistan

Pray for the Muslims in Pakistan:

* Pray that the growing undercurrents of dissatisfaction will not erupt into widespread violence but open their hearts to new options, especially the Gospel.

* Pray for the Pakistani church, historically small, weak and divided, to be renewed and set on fire with a vision for ministry to their neighbours. Pray for literature and other resources to be produced in the heart languages of the people.

* Pray that the power of folk-Islam, including the power of charms, curses and amulets, would be broken and that people would be free to respond to the Gospel.

Map of Pakistan

Background on Pakistan (World Factbook)

The separation in 1947 of British India into the Muslim state of Pakistan (with two sections West and East) and largely Hindu India was never satisfactorily resolved, and India and Pakistan fought two wars - in and 1965 - over the disputed Kashmir territory. A third war between these countries in 1971 - in which India capitalized on Islamabad's marginalization of Bengalis in Pakistani politics - resulted in East Pakistan becoming the separate nation of Bangladesh. In response to Indian nuclear weapons testing, Pakistan conducted its own tests in 1998. The dispute over the state of Kashmir is ongoing, but discussions and confidence-building measures have led to decreased tensions since 2002.

Economy of Pakistan

Pakistan, an impoverished and underdeveloped country, has suffered from decades of internal political disputes, low levels of foreign investment, and a costly, ongoing confrontation with neighboring India. However, IMF-approved government policies, bolstered by generous foreign assistance and renewed access to global markets since 2001, have generated solid macroeconomic recovery the last five years. Inflation remains the biggest threat to the economy.

About Pakistan

Population: 167,762,040 (July 2008 est.)

Life Expectancy at Birth: 64.13 years

Ethnic Groups: Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtun (Pathan), Baloch, Muhajir (immigrants from India at the time of partition and their descendants)

Religions: Muslim 97% (Sunni 77%, Shi'a 20%), other (includes Christian and Hindu) 3%

Languages: Punjabi 48%, Sindhi 12%, Siraiki (a Punjabi variant) 10%, Pashtu 8%, Urdu (official) 8%, Balochi 3%, Hindko 2%, Brahui 1%, English (official; lingua franca of Pakistani elite and most government ministries), Burushaski and other 8%

Literacy: 49.9% -- Male: 63%, Female: 36%

M300 Ministries would like to add to these thoughts the perspective that many believe revival will take place first in S.E. Asia and Africa. The ethnic ministers who partner with M300 Ministries to minister in Islamic dominated countries are Valiant Warriors who are increasingly expressing the view that signs of a Christian revival are increasingly evident. Please commit to pray for those who minister in these hard places.

Help me go to Haiti!
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:15

After much praying and listening to the Lord, as you may know, I am trying to travel to Haiti to be in assistance to the Haitian children who are less fortunate and ravaged in poverty. As we here in America are feeling the effects of a diminished economy, the people of Haiti are forced to see it as well. From rising food prices to fewer contributions, the trickle down effect is hard not to notice. This has placed greater burdens on the orphanage and the missionary families we support there, yet their hope is secure and their faith is strengthened. We can learn so much from these people when we, like them, become dependant on God's provision. I feel that I have been called to perform the works of the Lord, and to allow His love to amongst these children of God.

My trip to Haiti will take place in Port Au Prince, Haiti from July 2 through July 13, 2009 to help with the second "Camp in a Box" program founded by the Child Hope International program (http://www.childhope.org/). We started this last year and as I heard from those who those who went, heard the stories, and saw pictures, found that this was very impactful in the lives of the children of Maison de Lumiere (House of Light), the orphanage we will be ministering to. They have been able to experience the joy of going outside of the orphanage where they were challenged both mentally and physically to handle the life on the Haitian streets and endure starvation and hardships I could not even imagine. Like most camps here in America, they wanted to give the kids a chance to spend time together in an environment that made them forget about the burdens of daily life and to just be a kid. Everyday was filled with competitive games, vocational training, worship, and great times of fellowship together. They shared so much in that 10 days that everyone involved now feels like family - something most of these kids didn't have a positive view of. Hearts were changed (us "blancs" especially), and friendships were strengthened. Through this all, lives were changed and hurts are being mended.

One of my main goals when I am there is to produce a documentary, take photos and video, and reveal how God works in the smallest of ways, and how the children in this orphanage with their small Creole bibles, work to spread the love of Christ and good news to the poor villages around them. I want to make known how the love of Christ calls us to go out of our comfort zone, to place ourselves out of the ordinary and perform the extraordinary work of Chris’s love. The fact that we are all surely blessed beyond measure with the ability to breathe, see, hear, touch, taste, feel, have two legs that function, hands that can hold another, a voice that can change the future, a mind that can comprehend the wonders of the day, should give us a reason to not just live, but feel alive. The documentary I long to produce will encompass this truth, as these Haitian children share their hopes and dreams, and expose these eternal joys of being alive- that it is not in wealth that makes one happy, it is the joy of the Lord, and it is the fact that we truly are blessed beyond measure.

Of course my prayer is that I can count on your support so I will be able to change these children’s lives once more, and allow me to create a documentary that will be divulged to others to formulate awareness for these children’s needs. The trip is Approximately 1,600 dollars, which will include plane fares, sleeping accommodations, food, products for the orphanage, and luggage costs (bringing two suitcases full of clothes, shoes, pots and pans, non perishable food items, etc. for the orphanage and various villages around the city). My prayer for you is that you will help to support the kids and this Haitian community through your generosity. I know that we are in difficult economic times right now but I would encourage you to consider the children I speak of. Even that, I completely understand if you cannot support me and my group financially this year and would encourage your support through prayer, or by helping with some of the logistics on this end. Whatever you give, know that it will go a long way in helping us feed and bring joy to these starving and impoverished children. Every penny is a blessing, and will touch the lives of many.

If you are able to support me financially, please make your check payable to Mission Viejo Christian Church and on the memo line write “Kayla- Haiti Trip.” Be assured that every cent given goes directly to the cause you indicate and is tax deductible.

Please mail to:

2. Pray for plans to establish the first English Bible College in Pakistan.
  • Students will be provided English Biblical training and English teaching.
  • We invite you to consider partnering to help establish the first English Bible college in Pakistan and also we would appreciate visiting professors, teachers and guest for this college as well.

3. Catch The Wave School of Skills and Art.

  • We want a strong start and continued viable support for the “Pakistan Christian News Service" and your prayers and support can make it possible.

5. School

  • We are partnering to operate one open air Christian school in the village of Kasur. In Kasur there is no proper educational school for Christian children because there are mostly Madrasas which are operated by Muslims.
  • In order to bring to Pakistan a dynamic Christian way of life and to stand firm in Christ in Pakistan, it is very important to provide children with education including Christian education.
  • Please pray that the Lord will open the doors for a formal Christian school to be established including the need for land, a building and other things including staff and teachers as well

  • Please pray for a van and operational funding so that our teams can go to every corner of Pakistan sharing the Gospel and helping the needy.
  • Please pray that we can keep arranging crusades ,conferences and seminars sharing "Who is the Chirst?" and that these will make a difference in Pakistan.

8. Open invitation for Pastors, evangelists, teachers and preachers.

  • We extend an open invitation to Pastors, evangelists, teachers and preachers to come and share the word of God and win many souls for Christ in Pakistan.
  • We can humbly provide free accommodations and food for at least 2 valiant ministers who are led to come and preach in Pakistan.

9. Preach the word of God through translating your Books.

  • Pakistani people have very few resources for Biblical research work and very few Biblical books indeed.
  • We invite you to please send your Christian books, lessons and materials for translation so that the people in Pakistan can be equipped with Christian learning experiences that they do not currently have.
  • If you are a writer who produces your own Christian literature in the English language, we can translate it to Punjabi or Urdu so that it can be shared in Pakistan.
  • The translators reserve complete discretionary decision making on which materials to translate and share.
  • You may provide materials via the internet by email directly to: mission.asia.pk@gmail.com
  • Please also include a note authorizing the free translation and distribution of materials that you submit for translation.
  • Please do not submit materials that are copyrighted by others.

10. Cutting edge use of technology as a force multiplier in missions and ministry.

  • Pray for the development of cutting edge technology and methods that will promote a new way of staying in contact with sponsored orphans and widows worldwide.

Respected Teacher Wayne,

I am sorry that at night, I could not talk with you any longer as the lights went out.

I just gave a thanksgiving prayer today regarding the child (Emmanuel) and I am still amazed how the Lord hears prayers and answers quickly to his believers.

I am also praying for the Korean church, it's member family who gave and for others who have also agreed to help Emmanuel get his surgery in Pakistan.

Blessings

Alpha & Omega Ministries of Pakistan and M300 Ministries are partnering to fulfill James 1:27
Pastor Nadeem of Pakistan received an urgent request from the village of Marla, District Kasur. A small child named Emmanuel Maqsood requires surgery. Emmanuel is 4 years old and his father Maqsood is a Kline worker and they are a very, very poor family. The child needs to be operated on urgently. The required amount for his operation is $400. Pastor Nadeem says, "So I make humbly this request that whoever feels a burden for this child can donate for his operation. The parents asked me for help but I have no means, so we committed to pray that the Lord prepare someone. I shared with them how we partner with M300 Ministries and assured them that the request would be delivered. Now the rest of things are up to God." Picture below is Emmanuel's upper thigh.

NEWSLETTER FOR FRIENDS OF PREDISAN
SPRING 2009

Dear Friends of Mission Predisan,

What an amazing spring this has been, and what an exciting time personally for Predisan's staff and leaders!

In mid-April, Doris and Amanda, left, were honored by Mission Resource Network (MRN) in Dallas with the 2009 Crystal Globe Award for missions.

More than thirty Predisan board members and friends heard both Doris and Amanda speak eloquently about their roles as servants in Honduras. Martha was introduced to the receptive crowd of more than 500.

And, only days before, Marcos Madrid, Amanda's son, was married to lovely Rebecca Folger at the home of Predisan friends Terry and Joni Stokes. This gifted couple, recent Oklahoma Christian graduates, are packing for Honduras where Marcos will develop his mahogany business. Rebecca will be increasing her Spanish skills, and all say she's a quick study!

Meanwhile in Catacamas, Kyle and Bety are watching darling baby Mia grow day by day. And a special blessing this spring was the baptism of Keydy Flores, longtime Predisan staff member. See more on Keydy's baptism, and photos of Mia, the wedding, the MRN dinner, and our staff at work below.

Many exciting things are happening with our work in Catacamas and the mountains, but we wanted to tell you about these great events in the lives of the Predisan family! Our deepest thanks for your much-needed, so generous help, which blesses the people of Honduras every day.

Kyle Huhtanen, director of international relations

ENRIQUE'S AMAZING STORY

Enrique Pagoada's long journey began when a drunk driver hit him on his motorcycle in Catacamas. His leg was crushed and broken, and lack of sufficient care resulted in the amputation of his leg below the knee. But with that, Enrique's troubles had only begun.

Months later, Enrique was at Predisan's Good Samaritan Clinic before his mother had surgery last December. Dr. Amanda Madrid realized that Enrique's amputated leg was terribly infected, and if untreated, he could die. Amanda prevailed on Dr. Chad Eustis, a general surgeon from Corbin, Ky., who was part of a surgical brigade from Jackson Healthcare, Atlanta, to clean the infected wounds. But both doctors realized Enrique needed care unavailable in Catacamas.

Through a series of amazing and providential events, Dr. Eustis and his wife Dr. Elaine Eustis took Enrique to their home and their hospitals in Corbin. Baptist Regional Medical Center and Oak Tree Hospital, the Eustis family, and local doctors and nurses brought Enrique back to health and into their hearts, providing free care, housing and services. Jackson Healthcare helped with transportation and other costs, and Amanda brought together documents, people and resources to help it happen.

Today, Enrique is well, he walks with a prosthetic leg, and is home with his loving, Christian family. And, he is volunteering at Predisan to express his gratitude!

In Kentucky, Governor Steve Beshear and the hospital threw a festive party to celebrate their role in this great story. There, the governor declared Amanda an official Kentucky Colonel! Watch out Colonel Sanders!

God moved in many ways to bring Enrique back to Catacamas - healthy
and walking - and sincere thanks and gratitude to all who played a part!

CAN YOU DONATE TO PREDISAN TODAY?

Everyone, everywhere knows that economic times are difficult. The impact is being felt in the U.S., and in Honduras families struggle, and relatives return because their options elsewhere have evaporated. Predisan's fund-raising goal for Fiscal Year 2009 is $1.2 million - a huge challenge in this climate. If it's possible, can you donate today in one of these three ways?

· DONATE to Predisan monthly in any amount. Please email Sharon Kemp, our CPA, to make those arrangements: Predisan-USA Treasurer

· DONATE toward a CEREPA Scholarship by donating any amount, or by funding a quarter, a half, or a full CEREPA scholarship. One scholarship of $1,400 provides two-months' addiction treatment, on average, for a patient unable to pay. Send a check marked "CEREPA Scholarship Fund" to Sharon Kemp, Treasurer, Predisan-USA, 1625 Cooledge Road, Tucker, GA 30084.

· DONATE ONLINE through the link below with a gift appropriate for you or your family.

Any of these means would truly bless the people in Honduras, and support Predisan's work. Thank you for your generosity and concern in these difficult days! Above, two boys in the mountains, captured by gifted photographer Nancy Packard, Chattanooga, Tenn..

SPOTLIGHT:
KEYDY'S FAMOUS SMILE

Keydy Flores arrived at Predisan's door in 1998 as an 18-year-old in order to complete a required month's practicum for a vocational degree as a bilingual secretary. A year later, a secretarial position in Predisan was open and Keydy was hired as the new secretary.

Her agility and efficiency in working the telephone, radio, computer and front door, as well as with writing and editing were welcomed by Predisan's staff. And, all was done with a famous smile.

Volunteers Write About Their Experiences

ANN WHITE, Oklahoma City (right): "... Between the kindness and generosity of the Hondurans, the dedication of the Predisan staff, the hearts of my teammates, the prayers of many friends here and the work of the Holy Spirit, I feel as though the callousness was worn away, and I am more sensitive to God and His work in me ..." DANIEL PAREGIEN, Waterloo, Illinois:" ... We also had a little 'goodbye ceremony' even though we still have another day together. A couple of people cried. Yeah, some people talked about what they had felt these past few days. I'll tell you what, after being here, I really now get what my dad means when he says I'm really blessed." ... YURI'S STORY:
Predisan makes a difference in the life of a troubled family

FOR THE FIRST SIX YEARS OF HER LIFE, Yuri Faviola Hernandez was raised by a mother trapped in drug abuse, alcohol use and prostitution in Honduras' capital city, Tegucigalpa. Eventually, her aunt, who lives outside Catacamas near Predisan, interceded on her behalf. She took Yuri to raise in her own household, but it was also fraught with trouble.

But, with God's help over a period of years, Predisan's chaplains and the Scholarship Program have helped make important changes in Yuri's life, working to bring reconciliation in her family and directing her to God. In this story, Kyle Huhtanen, Predisan's director of international relations, tells how.

BONNIE AND HANDY JOIN
Forces to Train Birth Attendants
in Remote Mountain Communities

Honduran government efforts to modernize healthcare can create gaps in training for much-needed health practices in remote communities. Such is the case with traditional birth attendants.

These respected community members attend women in mountain regions far from hospitals, such as the 51 communities Predisan serves. But, in its efforts to encourage hospital births, the government ended training for traditional attendants. Thankfully, a resourceful partnership has come to the rescue.

Bonnie McClellan of Medical Teams International, Portland, Ore., and Handy Moradel, Predisan supervising nurse, have addressed this dilemma, and in so doing, are making a difference. Above, Using models and dolls, Bonnie McClellan teaches traditional birth attendants.

PARTING SHOT: The Predisan Scrapbook

ADAM AWTREY WORKED AT PREDISAN AS AN INTERN last summer, and the touching photo above captures the hope, the need and the concern involved in his work with families in the mountains. Adam, a student at Abilene Christian University, is planning to enter dental school. He became involved with Predisan through his home congregation, the Mid-County Church, Webster Groves, Mo.

At Predisan, Adam worked alongside dentist Dr. Sonia Alvarez, worked in the Healthy Schools Program to determine which children needed dental care, and visited one-on-one with families to explain proper dental care and diet. He said, "My eyes were opened to the great need for dental attention and education in Honduras. ... It was such a blessing to work with the people at Predisan, and see how eager everyone is to serve God and to serve people in need in Olancho."
