 Mexico: Summing things up!

Observations: Christmas Mission Adventure Camp Mexico

These are some of the things that I learned:

Randy and Donna Denton are faithful missionaries to Mexico with over 20 years of service and they still weep at what the Lord is doing in Mexico.

Most of the time the greatest growth happens in the hardest places. We need to allow God to work in our hard places because it is in these really hard places that He gets the glory.

We need to pray for the things that we know He is leading us to do and also to bring together other great Christian people to pray for, with and along with us. Asking them to be witnesses to God's faithfulness.

We need to step out on faith when we know that we know that God is asking us to step out on faith. We need to meet God with faith desiring that He work in us to bless and glorify His name.

We need to be willing to reach out and touch people. Physically shake hands and look people in the eye. Sitting in Houston International Airport on the way to Mexico there was an announcement that came on over and over again... saying that we were under a Level Orange Alert Level and that no one should talk to strangers or show to much confidence with strangers. Jesus said... I was a what? I was a STRANGER and you took me in. We need to not operate like the world operates. Sure precaution is needed but when we are wise as serpents and harmless as doves it is then that God can more easily bless us.

We need to become all things to all people in order to save some.

We need to see people as God sees them. God sees people as His creation and does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and righteousness. So should we.

We need to determine exactly how many doctrinal points we need to agree 100% upon before we can work together to put food into the mouth of starving children and share Jesus Christ. Could the greatest and the second greatest commandment be enough to allow us to join forces to share Jesus and to serve the needy?

We need to have church pastors asking missionaries things like: What is it that you need? How can our local body be of service in sharing the Gospel through missions? How can we pray for your mission? How can we find a way to connect with you and with what God is doing in your ministry? If Pastors, ministers and plain ordinary folks would just ask these kinds of questions then it would lead to a clear understanding on good stewardship.

We need to find it in our hearts and actions to both hear the voice of God and to do all that He ask of us. To do the odd things, as they seem to appear to be sometimes. When God plants someone in front of you who has a need that you can meet that need then you need to quickly do it before Satan stops by and steals that seed from your heart. If you will just do what God leads you to do and do it quickly the Lord will bless you. If you will live a life of abandon for His sake He will bless you. If you give to the poor..you give to Him. If you meet a need...You meet His need. Do it quickly and do it with the thought and intention of blessing someone. It is ok to tell the person that your help is help from the Lord. It is ok to say, " I pray that this gift will somehow help you at your hour of need. God knows you and loves you.

We need to encourage our missionaries from the USA but also realize fully that God isn't waiting for us any longer...He is sending thousands upon thousands of missionaries from China, South Korea and even from the youth. God will not sit by at peace while we let the lost perish because of our lack of faith, our blind eyes and our death ears. Our Lord is greater than that and He will move in the hearts of other nations, other nationalities and other races and creeds so that the Gospel is preached. Remember that the Gospel did not start in America and the Gospel was in Asia long before America ever existed. The Lord knows His people and they are faithful servants, pastors, ministers and people who He has called. We need to endeavor to find out what God is doing and where He is moving and run quickly to be a part of it.

Our God does not sleep nor does He slumber. Our God is an awesome God. Our God is the only God Jehovah. All of us are called to the same race but each of us are given a different race course to run. My course may be harder than yours or yours harder than mine but we are to run it with hearts abandoned to God with a desire to win the prize. Marvel not that God finds us often lacking in faith. Often lacking in prayer and the ability to pray. Often lacking in a geniune relationship with Him. Lacking in service and in giving. For the most part we are all slackards on some point or another and we just waive it off. God does not wave it off and will require and accounting for the life that we have lived. god loves Justice and he loves Mercy. Be like HIm...Love Justice, Love Mercy, Love Grace, Love your brother. Love the stranger in need. Love the lady who lost her teenage daughter. Love the lady suffering from illness. Love the poor Mexican kids that wipes his nose and then gives you his hand. Love, Love, the greatest of the commandments is to Love. This is how people know that we are from God if we will love one another. Jesus said that he no longer calls us servants but friends because we know His business and effectively are about it.
