Follow up with Iman
These pictures are a follow up to our interesting visit with Jamal at one of the local mosque yesterday in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We were invited back today to speak with the Iman of the mosque. The Iman is the spiritual leader of the mosque. The Iman is selected to serve by the community of Muslim believer's and generally is in a family line of Iman's.
We spoke for several hours with our students and the Iman asking and answering questions. I am happy that I was blessed to be able to present a gift of a Bible to the Iman, which is a Thai/English version.
All in all it was a courteous meeting and a informative exchange. It is good to have such exchanges and to be able to leave in peace. All are learners and God is merciful not wishing that any should perish, but that all might come to the truth...
As it turns out this mosque is a Sunni mosque and the Iman is part of a local group of religious leaders who meet together to share and reason while attempting to maintain and promote peace in the community. Seeds are planted and the word does not return void but produces it's fruit in it's own time. Some plant, others water and yet others are blessed to reap the harvest. The fields are white with the harvest, send workers to harvest the fields were the words of Jesus. And so it is still today...fields white unto the harvest.
