Hello, my name is Alan J. Morris and I am the Senior Pastor of Concord. I was born and raised in Smyrna, GA, the youngest of 5 children. After graduating from Wills High School I attended Truett-McConnell College and Mercer University to gain my BA in Business Administration. I married the former Becky Harris of Smyrna and we were blessed with 5 children in our first 7 years of marriage. This is by far my greatest accomplishment. You can see my family at our website:

After gaining my Masters in Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, my family served as missionaries for 4 years in Jakarta, Indonesia. While overseas, I felt called into pastoral ministries and enrolled in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where I finished my Master of Divinity degree. I then served in my first pastorate in Florence, SC, for 3 years. One afternoon, my best friend from Smyrna, Dale Auten, called and informed me of his church, Concord Baptist Church in Clermont, and their pulpit vacancy and asked if I would send him a resume'. It was only a few months later that God brought me to be the Senior Pastor at Concord.

My favorite times are those spent with my wife and children. I am very protective of family time and encourage other men to do the same. I enjoy reading technical journals on biblical languages, hard to find commentaries, and systematic theology. Some of my hobbies include playing the guitar, basketball, and strangely enough, street hockey. I have been told that my preaching style is like a cross-eyed discus thrower; I may not set any records, but I'll keep the crowds alert! I emphatically believe in preaching unashamedly the bold truths of the infallible, inerrant, inspired, and sufficient Word of God
